PAT GEARY ELECTED NEW CHAIRMAN OF MANASSAS GOP

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

March 12, 2026

Manassas, VA — The City of Manassas Republican Committee is pleased to announce that Pat Geary became Chairman on March 11. He was elected without opposition to a two-year term, succeeding outgoing Chairman George Ellis. Geary is a retired senior federal official who has lived in the City of Manassas with his wife, daughter, and son for the past seven years.

He is a published author, trainer, and parliamentarian who has traveled extensively across all 50 states and four continents. Over the last 45 years, he has held numerous leadership positions at the local, state, and national levels in multiple states, building a long track record of developing policy, streamlining processes, and helping others advance their careers.

At the top of Chairman Geary’s agenda is defeating Democrats’ proposed redistricting amendment in April, which would unfairly rig Virginia’s congressional maps and marshalling the full support of the committee behind the re-election campaigns of Councilwoman Theresa Coates Ellis and School Board Member Sara Brescia. He also plans to recruit and support strong candidates for local office to provide a full complement to the party's incumbents.

Because Chairman Geary was elected without opposition, the Party Canvass originally scheduled for March 28, 2026, will be canceled. In addition, all verified filers for committee membership and for delegate positions to the 10th District Convention will be automatically elected.
